The Tetons, Jackson Hole, and of course Colter Bay

Every year for Labor Day we head up to Jackson Hole and a little north to get together with Brandon's family (parents, aunts, uncles, my kids cousins, B's cousins, and a few other family members.) It is one of our favorite trips of the year...so healthy and good for the boys to be outdoors in some of the most beautiful mountains in the world.
We headed up to Jackson a little later than the rest of the family because we were attending the wedding but, we did make it up there at 9:00am Sunday morning and met the family at Signal Mountain Lodge for breakfast. While waiting to be seated like every year the boys ran down to the lake to play a little.

Skipping rocks...

Kai's version of skipping rocks...

Dancing on the dock...

Brandon has always played down at the lake as much as the kids...

best friends...

Cousin Grayson...

My little Jace...

Keep in mind when looking at these photos of Kai we had just driven five hours from Park City. Kai had no desire to change into his clothes before heading into the lodge for breakfast and we didn't fight him on it...but, he sure looks like a ragga muffin messy hair, chocolate lips, black eye, and all.

And, of course the Tetons in the background.

Every morning in Jackson the kids wake up around 6:00 or 7:00am. They have to eat immediately so I always walk them down to the Chuck Wagon for breakfast in their p.j.'s before the rest of the family even knows we are gone.

Jace's favorite part of Jackson Hole is all of the sticks he collects. It is quite the chore at the end of our trip to clean up all of the sticks outside our cabin and disperse them into the forest but, he doesn't mind.

Jace is so funny. One of the mornings he came walking up the dirt road and said look who I found. "It's Aunt Kristin (grandma's sister) she was lost and I found her." Keep in mind many of the cabins in Colter Bay are filled with our extended family so you can be on a walk at any point during the day and run into a cousin, aunt, uncle, or someone that is somehow related.

Too tired to enjoy the lake. :-)
